“We can see the rapid development of the whole world, the future is not experiencing evolution, it’s now experiencing explosions. The industrial blockchain 2.0 era is coming in 2021,” said Dr. Yu. “Industrial Blockchain 2.0 is a new chapter that integrates Industry Tokenize, Asset Tokenize, Data Tokenize, Technique integrate, and CBDC,” he added.

Trend 1: Blockchain Technology Becomes the Main Battlefield of Innovation

“I believe most of us have heard NFT in 2020. On October 7, 2020, Christie’s auction house has sold a digital portrait of the Bitcoin, Block 21 of Portraits of a Mind for over $130,000, it was the first time that a non-fungible token (NFT) was auctioned at a major auction house,” said Mr. Yu.

Moreover, he added, “NFT has been used in many areas, Market, VR, DeFi, Governance, Collectibles, Game, Domain and so on. The NFT scenarios have opened up another new and unique way of carrying value for on-chain digital assets.”

Trend 2: E-CNY Will Bring a Brand New Opportunities & Start New Smart Business Transformation

“The COVID-19 epidemic accelerates the development of CBDC, many governments issued inclusive cash subsidies to the people. In the process of distributing subsidies, many countries realized using cash or checks is a kind of low efficiency with the high cost and high risk,” said Dr. Yu.

In addition, he said, “But most countries do not have electronic payment system commonly used in society, which also increases the demand for digital currency. Shenzhen government launched a large-scale test of the E-CNY(DC/EP) on October 9th last year, it was the first pilot facing the public.”

“The popularization of E-CNY will accelerate the process of identity digitization and asset digitization, which will further expand the field of digital economy. E-CNY will bring brand new business opportunities and empower for “New Smart Business” transformation in the future,” he shared.

Trend 3: Technology Integration Changes Social Formation

“In 5G era, driverless cars, Internet of Things equipment, Industrial Internet will be widely used, and the demand for transactions among things will continue to increase, but the current currency and financial system cannot meet those future needs,” shared Dr. Yu.

Also, he continued, “In this situation, RMB must update to meet those potential demands for trade and finance. With the function of programmability, E-CNY is not only used for humans but also used for things. In the future, the relation between human and machine will be redefined.”

Trend 4: Asset Tokenlize Becomes Trend of the Times

“In the future when cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain widely used, value flow, information flow, and physical flow will be deeply integrated. This means everything in the physical world in the future, under the mapping of blockchain and other technologies, will have a digital twin,” said Dr. Yu.

Moreover, he added, “After the asset on-chain, it will realize ‘account is money, money is the account’, which is the integration of value flow and capital flow, and finally realize the ‘three flows in one’ of physical logistics, information flow and value flow, and then realize the financial service entity fundamental changes in economic methods.”

Last but not least, he said, “Blockchain will be the key to ensure security and privacy in the Internet of Things and big data era.
