[Delio] Ethereum creator Vitalik Interview: There is More to Crypto Than Money

Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin said in an interview that the crypto downturn is the period where most meaningful projects are launched, Fortune reported on June 19.

Vitalik told Fortune that he is not concerned about the recent crypto crash. He stated that the crypto market has already seen ups and downs and that it would experience both again. Though the down times are undoubtedly challenging, they are also frequent when the most meaningful projects get nurtured and built.

Vitalik hopes to see crypto applied to more industries outside finance while also focusing on improving Ethereum technology. As a part of an action, Vitalik helped the Ukraine DAO raise millions of dollars to support Ukrainians in need during the war.

Meanwhile, Ethereum is planning for the highly-anticipated “merge” upgrade, in which the network will shift from a proof-of-work mechanism to proof-of-stake and drastically decrease its environmental impact.
