[Delio] Delio was invited to participate the round table conference hosted by the central government of El Salvador
On March 31, Delio was invited to participate a round table conference hosted by the central government of El Salvador, a country in Central America.
This is the second time Delio has been invited to a conference hosted by the Salvadoran mission since December last year.
This time, Mrs. Maria Luisa Hayem, El Salvador Minister of Economy, Mrs. Adriana Mira, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jaime Jose Lopez Badia, Ambassador of El Salvador to Korea participated the conference offline or online and made a presentation. Representatives of blockchain and cryptocurrency companies who attended the conference also expressed interest in investment and actively asked questions.
The objective of the conference was to introduce the Bitcoin ecosystem, business and investment opportunities in El Salvador to Korean companies as El Salvador has been actively investing in Bitcoin and mining since the acceptance of Bitcoin as a legal tender in the country.
El Salvador is attracting a lot of international interest by its efforts to make the country a hub for digital and technological services. Las year September, the El Salvadorian government announced BTC as a payment equivalent to USD throughout the country and required all businesses to accept it as a payment. Then, the government created a national crypto wallet, named Chivo, for which Salvadorians are registering with their national IDs. ATMs has been installed to enable users to deposit and withdraw USD.
The Bitcoin City of El Salvador is a city with zero taxes, powered geothermally by a nearby volcano and funded by Bitcoin bonds. The President Bukele presented that the city would include residential and commercial areas, restaurants, an airport, a seaport and rail service. The most intriguing part is that La Union (Bitcoin City) is a crypto haven with no income, property, and capital gain taxes.
Delio, which is actively expanding its global business, will actively review related compliance, legal, tax and business models after the meeting to explore the possibility of its business in El Salvador.
