[Delio] Conference on Global Crypto Asset Policy with Korea, the US, and Europe
The People’s Power Party, a conservative political party in South Korea that is in the process of enacting the very first comprehensive law on digital assets called the Framework Act on Digital Assets, discussed the cryptocurrency asset policy with Caroline Pham, a standing member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Peter Kerstens, an advisor at European Commission during the conference in South Korea.
Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Changhyun Yoon remarked on the importance of the worldwide digital asset policies acceptance outside of South Korea due to the rapid changes in the global markets.
In response, Caroline Pham emphasized the need for global standard rules and global cooperative exchanges, including in Korea. She additionally mentioned the requirement for international market participants to develop a common vision pointing out that investor protection is crucial for the growth and maintenance of the crypto market.
Advisor at EC Peter Kerstens also revealed the effort of promoting crypto assets with limitless potential in Europe and proposed MiCA, a cryptocurrency law that the EU recently addressed to contribute to market stabilization and offer legal clarity for the investors’ protection.
